The Art of Tea is a small Tasmanian business, established in 2000. From humble beginnings the Art of Tea began selling just 12 different varieties of tea at the Salamanca Market, on Saturdays. The business quickly grew, as the demand for quality loose leaf teas became apparent. The Art of Tea now has over 130 tea and herbal varieties available! The stall at Salamanca Market still plays a key part in the success of the business with interstate and overseas visitors returning to the stall for more of their favourite tea blends. The locals also visit often for a chat and to stock up tea.

The Art of Tea is also a supplier of the uniquely packaged, quality loose leaf teas to cafes, restaurants, providores, and hamper businesses Australia wide. In addition, the online shop commenced in 2004, providing easy shopping for tea lovers across Australia.

In late 2009, the Art of Tea set up a small retail shop at the new warehouse in Kingston. We can be visited there Monday-Thursday 9-5pm (Fri 10-4pm) for direct door sales. With free and easy parking directly out the front, it is a great place for locals to shop for themselves and for gifts.

At the Art of Tea, we are passionate about improving health and wellbeing. As such we seek the highest quality ingredients for our herbal range, as well as our teas. Also, with the Rooibos (South African red bush) packed with 37 antioxidants, low tannins and naturally caffeine free health benefits, we see the red as the new black and endeavour to encourage our customers to try this great beverage. Even Hanna-Jane, the Art of Tea manager’s daughter at age 6 loves her rooibos!

Keen to see Tasmanians and visitors enjoy a decent cup of tea wherever they travel, the number of cafes and retailers selling or serving our tea is expanding. See the Retailers and Cafe page to ensure you can have your favourite brew wherever you go.

All of our teas are hand packed with care and we are confident that each box of tea goes out to the customer beautifully packaged and ready to be enjoyed!
